St. John’s Church School "Backpack Program" is being restarted under a new name and format. Now called "Feeding C-FC families", this program started by Kalane Engel helped families facing food security feed their families on weekends and holidays. It was temporarily suspended during the pandemic. Changes to logistical availability as well as confidentiality concerns that e students received their backpacks at school have led to a new format.
Feed My People will deliver food to the Milton Town Hall on the third Wednesday of each month. Volunteers are needed to help unload the food, then sort and pack it into boxes for families who have signed up for the program. Families will then come by either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday to pick up their boxes. Hope United Church members and friends are also invited to join St. John’s Church volunteers, as well as the wider community.

In 1957 St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church became St. John’s United Church of Christ as a result of a merger. The denominations of the Congregational Christian Church, along with Evangelical and Reformed Church joined to form United Church of Christ. UCC is a distinct and diverse community of Christians that came together as one church. They joined faith and actions and currently are over 5,000 churches with nearly one million members across the U.S. The UCC serves God in the co-creation of a just and sustainable world. The UCC is a church of "firsts," a church of extravagant welcome, and a church where "…they may all be one".
